LSC

Introduction

The LSC web Portal allows Italian PIs to retrieve information on their observing programs at LBT. The aim of the portal is to help PI users to interact with the LSC Team in order to obtain their reduced data ready for their studies and publication purposes.

Registration

Users can register to the portal using a form where an e-mail address, a password and other mandatory and optional fields are required. Password can be reset using a dedicated reset tool.

User Levels

The LSC web portal has been developed to recognize the user level:

• The Administrator that manages users, privileges and has access to all the portal operations
• Observers that are special users having privileges to access observing metadata for planning observations.
• Reducers that are special users having privileges to update the reduced data archive and to distribute the reduced products to the PIs
• Users, that are the Principal Investigators of the observing programs that can access the information of their programs and retrieve only their own reduced data.

Preliminar Operations

After the registration user has to click or browse the link provided though the registration message sent by email to activate the account.

Queries

Inside the LSC web portal and under user session it is possible to query proposals information (LBT Observing Scheduler) and reduction data products (Reduced Data Archive). User can specify search filters (e.g. a cone-search around a particular RA/DEC position within a desired radius) to select desired reduced targets. Once the query is performed and the images are selected, it is possible to check all the image metadata. By selecting all desidered images, a zip password-protected archive is created and can be retrieved by user through a direct link which is kept in the archive for a limited time period. Anyway if the link is expired, user may create it again through a new query.
